Toyota has introduced the refreshed 2027 Tundra, featuring updated styling, enhanced technology and an expanded lineup that includes the all-new Trailhunter package. According to the automaker, customer feedback drove these updates, which aim to better serve truck owners who use their vehicles for work, recreation and off-road adventures.
Toyota’s North American teams, including CALTY Design Research in Michigan, led development of the new Tundra. The Trailhunter package, based on the SR5 trim, offers factory-installed overlanding equipment at a more accessible price point. Standard features of this package include:
- Michelin LTX Trail tires
- An Old Man Emu suspension
- Front recovery hooks
- Additional underbody protection
- Crawl Control
- Multi-Terrain Select and a locking rear differential
- Exclusive bronze wheels
Notably, the distinctive Trailhunter badging set this package apart from the rest of the lineup.
Toyota also made upgrades to technology and safety. Every 2027 Tundra now comes standard with a 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen that features AT&T 5G connectivity and an upgraded “Hey Toyota” voice assistant. Additional standard features include a built-in dash camera, expanded Digital Key functionality and an available 2.4-kW inverter on i-FORCE MAX hybrid models. Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, featuring updated driver-assistance technologies, now comes standard across the lineup.
Toyota will continue to offer both twin-turbo V6 gas and i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrains across multiple trim levels. Toyota expects to announce pricing, full specifications and additional details this fall.
