Conversica launches Ignite, an AI-native Revenue Activation Engine for automotive retail

Conversica launches Ignite, an AI-native Revenue Activation Engine for automotive retail

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Conversica today launched Ignite, an AI-native Revenue Activation Engine for dealers and dealer groups, and announced a majority recapitalization led by a fund managed by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital. Under the partnership, Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital acquires a majority stake while Conversica’s management team continues to lead the business and retains a significant ownership position.

Automotive retail is being reshaped by customers who expect greater confidence, transparency, and control in every buying and ownership interaction. Dealers have the local relationships, service history, transaction data, and human expertise to deliver a more trusted experience than any purely digital marketplace. The challenge is that this context is often fragmented across the systems dealers rely on every day: transaction details live in the DMS, customer records sit in the CRM, audience data is organized into rigid segments, and conversations across email, SMS, chat, phone, and the showroom are rarely connected into a complete view of the customer.

Conversica calls this disconnected retail. Its cost is felt by both dealership teams and customers. Employees are forced to piece together context by hand across multiple screens, often while seeing only part of the picture. When that context is missing, customers feel it. They can be treated like strangers by businesses that should know them, receiving offers and outreach that miss the moment, the need, or the relationship. Over time, every disconnected interaction compounds the operational burden and weakens the trust customers expect from the dealership.

That is why Ignite was built: to make context-driven revenue activation possible, end the perceived trade-off between trust and profit, and make the most trusted dealership the one best positioned to win.

Ignite unifies scattered customer, vehicle, sales, service, and conversation data into a single context layer, then surfaces the revenue opportunities hidden inside it: from owners nearing equity or lease milestones to declined service, lost service retention, overlooked F&I opportunities, and customers most likely to buy again.

The platform activates those opportunities across the dealership without requiring dealers to replace the systems they already run. Ignite engages customers through two-way conversations and omnichannel campaigns shaped by each customer’s context, helping the right message reach the right customer at the right time.

For customers, Ignite helps dealerships deliver the kind of experience modern buyers increasingly expect: relevant outreach, clear next steps, continuity across channels, and confidence that the dealership understands their history, their vehicle, and their needs. For dealership teams, Ignite brings that same context into the workflow, helping salespeople and service advisors walk into every interaction already understanding the person in front of them.

For dealer groups, context can follow the customer across rooftops while leaders gain a clearer line of sight across the business, from store performance and inventory to customer demand and market conditions. Because Ignite learns from outcomes over time, the intelligence compounds and remains an asset of the dealership.

“Customers increasingly expect speed, transparency, and control across every buying and ownership interaction,” said Mike Gilson, CEO of Conversica. “Dealers already have the relationships, service history, local presence, and customer data to deliver that experience in a more trusted and personal way. The problem is that too much of that context is locked inside disconnected systems. Ignite puts that context to work, helping dealers compete on trust, activate more revenue from the relationships they already have, and prove that doing right by the customer is also the most profitable way to run the business.”

“Automotive retail is at an inflection point, and we believe the dealerships that can activate their customer data across the full lifecycle will be best positioned to grow,” said Nick Nocito, Managing Director at Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital. “Conversica has built the intelligence layer to make that possible, helping dealers turn fragmented data into trusted customer experiences and measurable revenue opportunities across the enterprise.”

The recapitalization positions Conversica to scale Ignite across dealer groups, deepen its intelligence, and expand the channels through which it activates revenue opportunities. Terms were not disclosed.
