Carvana expands same-day delivery to Jacksonville market

The online used-car retailer is expanding same-day vehicle delivery and pickup options in the Jacksonville area as it grows its logistics network and regional reconditioning operations.

Carvana expands same-day delivery to Jacksonville market

On the Dash:

  • Carvana now offers same-day delivery to select customers in the greater Jacksonville area, so local dealers should expect online shoppers to weigh delivery speed alongside price and selection.
  • Local sellers can schedule same-day pickup and drop-off after an online appraisal, giving Carvana a faster route to used inventory and increasing pressure on stores competing for trade-ins.
  • The service operates in select markets across more than 20 states, and Carvana plans to keep scaling it, so dealers in other regions should prepare for similar competition.

Carvana expanded same-day vehicle delivery to the greater Jacksonville area on Oct. 14, allowing select local customers to receive a vehicle as soon as the same day they order it on Carvana.com. The service gives Jacksonville-area shoppers a faster online alternative to the same-day drive-away that dealerships have traditionally offered.

Carvana also announced it extended the same-day option to sellers. Local customers who want to sell a vehicle to Carvana can schedule pickup and drop-off the same day they complete the company’s online appraisal, positioning the retailer to acquire used inventory faster in a market where stores also compete for trade-ins and direct purchases.

Jacqueline Hearns, Carvana’s Senior Director of Market Operations and Expansion, said the company is “excited to introduce an even faster and more convenient” experience after serving Jacksonville-area buyers and sellers for many years.

Carvana’s online platform lets customers shop tens of thousands of vehicles, secure financing, trade in a vehicle and complete a purchase entirely online, and the company said its first-party logistics network and regional Inspection and Reconditioning Centers support the same-day offering. Dealers weighing a response should note that same-day service depends on reconditioning and logistics capacity, not only on online sales tools.

Carvana initially launched same-day delivery in Arizona, and the service now operates in select markets across more than 20 states. Looking ahead, the company plans to continue scaling the offering regionally as it expands its national logistics and reconditioning infrastructure, so dealers in other markets may soon face the same online option.

What does this mean for dealers

Carvana’s Jacksonville launch matters to dealers first because it narrows a long-standing advantage. Stores have traditionally won shoppers by letting them drive home the same day, and Carvana now offers a comparable timeline to select local customers who buy entirely online. As a result, delivery speed becomes one more point of comparison alongside price, inventory and trade-in value.
