What dealers can give customers they can’t get from F&I online
At conferences, summits, and conventions, speakers and panelists often say certain things to get the attention of those attending. At the Best Training Day Ever, it was mentioned that F&I won’t be completely available for customers to go online to complete the entire car buying process in the near future. Tony Dupaquier, Director of The Academy, Service Group, gave us his opinion on how technology is affecting F&I as well as what it takes to be effective in F&I. Watch Now

Mitsubishi online car dealership launched
When it comes to automakers allowing customers more engagement with the online car buying process, Mitsubishi has now jumped into the busy waters with Mitsubishi Buy Online. Mitsubishi Buy Online gives potential car buyers different purchasing options tailored to what their budget is and their preferred delivery method. Auto Express says the online service also allows customers to trade their old Mitsubishi in for a new one at a discounted price. It also provides the opportunity to begin a purchase online that can later be finalized at a local Mitsubishi dealer if required. Read More

Alphabet Launches the First Taxi Service With No Human Drivers
The autonomous car unit of Google parent, Alphabet, said it will soon start chauffeuring people in minivans without safety drivers, staffers that man the steering wheel. Bloomberg says Waymo will be doing so in a limited region of Phoenix, where it is currently running a pilot program. John Krafcik, Waymo CEO and former Ford executive, told a web-conferencing summit in Portugal recently, “Fully self-driving cars are here.” He added that an on-demand service would be the first commercial use case for Waymo. Bloomberg says Krafcik believes the service will arrive soon, allowing people to hail the cars with a mobile app, similar to services like Uber and Lyft. Read More
