Carvana has acquired a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Avon Lake, Ohio, marking the online used-vehicle retailer’s seventh franchised Stellantis location as it continues its push into new-car sales.
The dealership, Avon Lake Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, is located just outside Cleveland. The dealership’s voicemail states that it is “now proudly owned and operated by Carvana.”
It was previously owned by Scott Zuckerman and Elliot Schor of Catskill Automotive Partners. They had held the store for just over a year before selling to Carvana.
“We look forward to bringing exceptional Carvana experiences to Cleveland-area Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram customers,” a Carvana spokesperson told CBT News.
The Avon Lake acquisition comes just over a month after Carvana purchased Colonial Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep-Ram near Boston, underscoring the company’s accelerating pace of franchise expansion.
Carvana entered the franchised retail market in February 2024 with the purchase of a CDJR location in Casa Grande, Arizona. The company has since added stores in Dallas, Sacramento, San Diego, and Union City, Ga., with each location rebranded under the Carvana name.
The moves signal a significant strategic shift for Carvana, which built its business around online used-vehicle sales before pivoting to acquire brick-and-mortar franchise points.
