2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee debuts Hurricane 4 Turbo engine with tech and design upgrades

Jeep’s refreshed Grand Cherokee blends class-leading power, family-friendly versatility, and advanced technology across simplified trims for 2026.

On the Dash:

  • The 2026 Grand Cherokee introduces a new 2.0-liter Hurricane 4 Turbo engine with 324 hp, 332 lb-ft of torque, 6,200-pound towing capacity, and a 506-mile driving range.
  • Interior and exterior updates include a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, premium audio options, redesigned grille and fascia, and three new paint finishes.
  • Jeep simplifies trims to Laredo, Limited, and Summit, with plug-in hybrid and three-row options for maximum versatility.

Jeep has unveiled the 2026 Grand Cherokee, bringing significant power, technology, and design updates to America’s most awarded SUV.

The centerpiece of the refresh is the all-new 2.0-liter Hurricane 4 Turbo engine, offering 324 horsepower, 332 lb-ft of torque, and a class-leading 6,200-pound towing capacity. Jeep estimates a 506-mile driving range on a single tank of fuel, making it both efficient and capable for long-distance adventures.

The Hurricane 4 Turbo marks the first high-volume application of Turbulent Jet Ignition technology, which ignites a small fuel charge in a pre-chamber to deliver faster, cleaner combustion without sacrificing power. A variable geometry turbocharger ensures 90% of peak torque is available between 2,600 and 5,600 rpm, delivering strong low-end performance for launches, cruising, and acceleration. The engine will be assembled at Stellantis’ Dundee, Michigan, Engine Plant, reinforcing Jeep’s U.S. manufacturing presence.

Alongside the powertrain, the 2026 Grand Cherokee receives a freshened design. Exterior updates include a revised seven-slot grille, new headlights, modified rear fascia, and three new paint colors:

  • Steel Blue,
  • Copper Shino,
  • Fathom Blue.

Inside, Jeep introduces a 12.3-inch infotainment display, with optional 10.25-inch passenger screens and a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system. Advanced safety features, including Active Driving Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Intersection Collision Assist, are standard on higher trims.

Simplified trim lineup

Jeep has streamlined the Grand Cherokee trims for clarity and value:

  • Premium audio system
  • Selec-Terrain 4×4 system

  • Ambient interior lighting
  • Optional packages:

    • Limited Altitude: Darkened accents, dual-pane panoramic sunroof
Summit trim

For families, the Grand Cherokee L offers three-row seating, best-in-class second-row legroom, and more cargo space behind the third row than competitors. Plug-in hybrid options are available across the Limited, Summit, and Trailhawk trims, with the Trailhawk offering 470 lb-ft of torque, best-in-class departure angles, and a 470-mile driving range.

Production of the 2026 Grand Cherokee will take place at Stellantis’ Detroit Assembly Complex, Jefferson and Mack plants, with pricing for the Hurricane 4 Turbo-powered models to be announced closer to launch.

As Jeep continues to lead in off-road capability, versatility, and technology, the 2026 Grand Cherokee positions itself as a class-leading SUV ready for both daily driving and grand adventures.
