Salvation Army and Toyota Lexus Dealership Association address Thanksgiving food insecurity

On the Fourth Day of Service, more than 3,400 food boxes containing non-perishable supplies such as cereal boxes and canned goods were distributed at several participating Toyota dealerships.
The growing issue of food poverty that families nationwide encounter during the Thanksgiving holiday was addressed by TLMODA.

The growing issue of food poverty that families nationwide encounter during the Thanksgiving holiday was addressed by The Salvation Army and the Toyota Lexus Minority Owners Dealership Association (TLMODA), as their collaboration was extended once again.

More than 3,400 food boxes containing non-perishable supplies such as cereal boxes and canned goods were distributed at several participating Toyota dealerships nationwide.

The grocery boxes were constructed and packed based on safety criteria provided by federal, state, and local health officials by the local Salvation Army teams. At the same time, the families in need of food were directed by The Salvation Army to pick up their grocery boxes by visiting one of the participating Toyota dealerships.

“The communities where we operate and reside are supported by our company,” Jim Colon, President of TLMODA, said. “It is with great delight that we announce another collaboration with The Salvation Army for a Day of Service. Across 33 Toyota and Lexus dealerships in the U.S., over 3,000 food boxes were distributed to assist children who suffer from food insecurity and depend on government-supported meals during the Thanksgiving school break. Each box contains enough food to feed a family of four for a week. We are thrilled about the opportunity to ensure that no family or child in our communities goes without food during the holiday season.”

The Salvation Army highly appreciates its collaboration with TLMODA, and it has been working with them for the past three years to provide food for people in need. The Salvation Army is thankful for its partner’s support, and it is believed that this partnership to distribute food boxes shows its commitment to helping families in need.

The participating dealerships include Toyota dealerships in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New York, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington.
