Ford is increasing the number of chargers in its BlueOval Charge Network in North America by 25%, bringing the total to more than 106,000.

The BlueOval Charge Network in the U.S. and Canada now includes three additional charging providers from Ford: Blink, Red E, and Francis Energy. These new providers, like the existing ones, will benefit from embedded charger routing and simple payment options with FordPass.

The three new providers will also add over 10,000 new chargers to the network and over 550 new DC fast chargers. The following are the current BlueOval Charge Network providers:

  • Shell Recharge
  • Solutions, Electrify America
  • EVgo
  • ChargePoint
  • FLO
  • EV Connect
  • Electric Circuit-

The development follows months after Ford and Tesla entered into an agreement granting EV owners access to the largest network of high-speed Superchargers in the U.S. by early 2024. Furthermore, Ford announced it would expand its network of Tesla Superchargers by over 15,000, surpassing its initial estimate of 12,000 chargers. That is 3,000 more than the original tally from May 2023, when Ford was the first big automaker to declare a partnership with Tesla.

The automaker also announced at the time that starting in 2025, its second-generation EVs would have NACS ports, which are required to connect to Tesla’s fast charger network. Owners of current BlueOval electric vehicles can use an adapter, which will be available on Ford’s accessories website early next year until Ford EVs receive NACS connectors from the factory.

According to Bill Crider, senior director of Global Charging and Energy Services at Ford, “Continuous growth of the BlueOval Charge Network, including a critical focus on reliable, fast charging, remains a top priority to provide our customers the best possible electric driving experience.”
