  • Stellantis Design Studio, Windelo, and Barreau-Neuman Naval Architects collaborated to redesign the Windelo 62 and 58 catamarans, emphasizing performance, comfort, and sustainability.
  • The new 360 Horizon Cabin concept offers panoramic views, enhanced ergonomics, and a sense of openness throughout the vessel, thereby improving the sailing and living experience.
  • Advanced design tools, including AI and holographic immersive technology, accelerated development, ensuring a cohesive and innovative design across multiple Windelo models.

On September 11, Stellantis Design Studio and Windelo Catamarans announced a partnership with Barreau-Neuman Naval Architects to debut redesigned Windelo 62 and Windelo 58 catamarans, combining performance-driven marine architecture with sustainable luxury at the Cannes Yachting Festival, running September 9–14.

The new vessels feature a bold hull silhouette emphasizing speed and agility, while integrating living spaces for daily comfort. A centerpiece of the redesign is the 360 Horizon Cabin concept, which uses a floating roof, concealed glass frame, and open cockpit layout to deliver panoramic views and a continuous sense of space throughout the vessel.

According to the company’s press release, Hugo Nightingale, creative director at Stellantis Design Studio, said, “Our collaboration with Windelo has been an inspiring journey where we translated the bold, dynamic inspiration of automotive proportion into the marine environment.” He further asserts that the Windelo 62 and Windelo 58 exemplify the ideal combination of the company’s design innovation and Windelo’s dedication to performance and environmental sustainability.

The project showcases fast-paced creative development, leveraging AI for rapid design iteration and Stellantis’ holographic immersive tools to refine concepts in real-time. The result, according to designers, is a cohesive identity for Windelo’s fleet that balances ergonomics, luxury, and naval craftsmanship.

Windelo CEO Gautier Kauffmann said the collaboration helped the company “enhance the iconic Windelo identity and elevate the entire sailing experience,” noting the Windelo 62 as an example of “what can be achieved when different worlds come together to create something exceptional.”

The design team developed additional models, the Windelo 63 and 59, simultaneously, to maintain a bold and cohesive aesthetic across the range. Industry professionals and sailing enthusiasts can preview the lineup at Windelo’s Port Canto booth during the Cannes event.

Stellantis to prioritize four core brands in turnaround strategy, sources say The automaker plans to shift funding toward Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, and Fiat while maintaining its broader portfolio. On the Dash: Expect increased product investment and marketing support for Jeep, Ram, Peugeot and Fiat. Regional and niche brands may see reduced volume but more targeted positioning and shared platforms. Platform-sharing and rebadging strategies could affect inventory mix and model differentiation. Stellantis will concentrate most of its investment on four core brands as CEO Antonio Filosa pushes a turnaround strategy set for release May 21, according to a Reuters exclusive. The automaker has identified Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, and Fiat as its priority brands. It will allocate a “material increase” in funding to them, driven by their stronger global sales and profitability, marking a shift away from the company’s previous approach of distributing investment more evenly across its portfolio. Stellantis will retain its 14-brand lineup, the largest in the industry, and will not shut down underperforming marques. Instead, the company will reposition secondary brands such as Citroën, Opel and Alfa Romeo to operate in regional or niche roles. These brands will rely on shared platforms and technology developed by the core brands while maintaining distinct styling and market identity. The strategy comes as Stellantis works to regain market share in the United States and Europe while facing growing competition from Chinese EV makers. The company earlier reported a 22.2 billion-euro charge tied to scaling back its EV plans, underscoring the urgency of the strategic shift. Its market valuation has also declined significantly in recent months. To support the transition, Stellantis will expand its use of shared “multi-energy” platforms that support electric, hybrid and internal combustion (ICE) vehicles. Additionally, the company is evaluating rebadging strategies and joint development programs, including collaborations with its Chinese partner, Leapmotor. Executives and investors backing the plan expect the increased focus on core brands to improve efficiency and strengthen financial performance. Analysts say Stellantis could still consider further consolidation if results fall short of expectations.
