Rivian is continuing its strategic expansion with a new East Coast headquarters set to open in Atlanta by late 2025.

Rivian is continuing its strategic expansion with a new East Coast headquarters set to open in Atlanta by late 2025. Announced alongside Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, the new location will bring the EV automaker closer to its under-construction manufacturing facility in Stanton Springs North, roughly 40 minutes outside the city.

The new office will eventually house up to 500 employees and be situated within the Junction Krog District building, along the Atlanta Beltline. This expansion complements Rivian’s growing global footprint and emphasizes the company’s long-term commitment to the region, especially in workforce development and institutional partnerships.

Here’s why it matters:

This announcement highlights Rivian’s growing operational presence in the U.S. Southeast, a region with rising EV investments and competitive pressure. Although the EV maker currently sells direct to consumers, its increasing domestic manufacturing and regional infrastructure may shift how and where inventory and service are managed, especially as more states reexamine direct-sales models and EV adoption expands.

Key takeaways:

  • Rivian announces new East Coast headquarters
The EV maker will open a new office in Atlanta, Georgia, supporting up to 500 employees near its upcoming production plant.
  • Office to open by late 2025
The headquarters will begin operations with 100 employees and is expected to grow to 500 as Rivian scales up production and operations in Georgia.
  • Strategic proximity to new EV plant
The Atlanta headquarters is located near Rivian’s future $5 billion manufacturing facility in Stanton Springs North, which is currently under construction.
  • Georgia officials back expansion
State and local leaders welcomed the investment, citing the benefits of job creation, talent access, and long-term economic development.
  • Rivian deepens regional commitment
The company plans to build partnerships with Georgia universities and training institutions to develop a skilled EV workforce.
