Honda was crowned winner of the 2026 Best Car Brand for the fifth consecutive year by the U.S. News Cars. The brand’s vehicles—most notably the Accord, Civic, and Civic R—received high scores across the board for performance, quality, safety and reliability.
The Civic, which is currently in its eleventh generation, was highlighted as one of the most well-rounded nameplates in the compact car segment. Honda says the vehicle is a gateway to the brand, America’s best-selling compact car since 1973, and the most popular vehicle among Gen Z, first-time buyers and multicultural buyers.
The agency also celebrated the Accord, ranking it at the top of the midsize car segment. The Accord ranks as America’s most popular midsize vehicle and is immensely popular among Millennials, Gen Z and multicultural buyers.
U.S. News’s Best Vehicle Brands Awards ratings are based on each vehicle’s overall score and the consensus opinion of internal and third-party automotive experts.
