Liteborne Motor Corp. plans to deepen relationship with Chinese EVs in 2023

U.S. sales of the EV will debut in the third quarter of 2023 or early 2024.
Al Wagner EVs Skywell

In November, it was revealed that Al Wagner would serve as the CEO of Liteborne Motor Corp., the company with the exclusive right to sell Skywell EVs in North America. According to a news announcement on Wagner’s hiring, the “newly reformed and rebranded” Imperium Motor Co. is Liteborne, a division of DSG Global.

Wagner is preparing for the anticipated U.S. sales debut of the Skywell EVs in the third quarter of 2023 or early 2024, despite the fact that his company is still in its infancy

Years ago, businessmen in Detroit didn’t believe the Japanese could provide a strong luxury brand, but Lexus proved them wrong. Wagner was presented with what they considered to be a high-quality offering from a Chinese manufacturer attempting to break into the U.S. market. It has been a difficult aim for Chinese automakers, but Wagner recognized some parallels.

Wagner wants to relocate the business office to downtown Detroit from its current location in Southfield. The business employs roughly seven people, but there are plans for it to hire another 30 in Detroit and more staff to support its dealer network.

The initial SUV model, dubbed the Aurium and categorized as a mid-size SUV, is anticipated to have three versions with a price tag between $34,000 and $48,000. About 320 miles should be possible for the EV on one charge.

“This gives the public and the consumer another point of entry that doesn’t break the bank, and that’s what we’re all about,” Wagner said.
