Mercedes’ Steve Cannon To Speak Oct. 20 At Business Event Co-Sponsored By CBT Automotive

Steve Cannon, CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, will appear as guest speaker at a Sandy Springs/Perimeter (Ga.) Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Oct. 20.

Mercedes-Benz is moving its U.S. headquarters to Sandy Springs from New Jersey starting this year. During his speech, Cannon is expected to provide an update of the headquarters transition, discuss business conditions and projects at his company, and give his outlook for the auto industry and for the U.S. economy.

Cannon joined Mercedes-Benz in 1991 after a career as an Army officer. He later worked on a small team for the development and launch of the M-Class SUV. He served for nearly five years as VP of marketing for Mercedes-Benz USA before ascending to the CEO’s role in 2007.

His Oct. 20 speech will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North hotel, 7 Concourse Parkway NE, Atlanta, GA 30328. Media members interested in attending should contact Samantha Barton of the Chamber at samantha(at)sandysprings(dot)org.

Corporate sponsors for the event include Atlanta-based CBT Automotive Network and BB&T.

“It will be great for the local business community to hear from Steve Cannon and a wonderful new corporate citizen in Mercedes-Benz,” said Jim Fitzpatrick, founder and CEO of CBT Automotive. “Apart from serving the same industry, we at CBT feel a particular affinity to Mercedes-Benz given that our studios and offices are only a short distance from the company’s new headquarters.”
