2026 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro CrewMax | Hybrid off-road beast in Wavemaker blue

The 2026 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro CrewMax proves you don’t need a V8 to have a serious full-size pickup. Toyota’s flagship off-road truck comes standard with the i-Force Max hybrid powertrain and a long list of factory upgrades that make it equally comfortable on the highway or the trail. With strong towing capability, modern technology, and rugged body-on-frame construction, it’s built for buyers who expect their truck to do it all.

Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 paired with an electric motor, producing 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque through a 10-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid delivers smooth, immediate acceleration while maintaining a towing capacity of up to 11,175 pounds. Fuel economy is rated at 18 mpg city and 20 mpg highway, and premium fuel is recommended.

The TRD Pro earns its badge with serious off-road equipment, including FOX shocks, a 1.1-inch front lift, Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, an electronically locking rear differential, forged 18-inch BBS wheels, and 33-inch Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires. Aluminum skid plates protect the underbody, while optional rock rails add even more trail capability.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 comes standard with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Inside, the Tundra feels modern and well-equipped. A 14-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and a 12-speaker JBL audio system are standard. The TRD Pro also features a Multi-Terrain Monitor, available red SofTex-trimmed power seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and an available panoramic moonroof.

The TRD Pro stands out with exclusive styling, including the new Wave Maker light blue paint, smoked LED headlights, an integrated LED light bar, TRD badging, and power-folding mirrors. Buyers can also add TRD Performance accessories, including a cat-back exhaust and dual air intake system.

Every Tundra CrewMax features seating for five and a durable composite 5.5-foot bed with a standard power tailgate and a 120-volt outlet. An available Tow Tech Package adds a wireless trailer camera system for easier towing.

Toyota backs the Tundra with a three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty, while the hybrid system is covered for eight years or 100,000 miles. Two years of scheduled maintenance and roadside assistance are also included.

Pricing starts at $41,260 for the Tundra lineup, while my TRD Pro test truck, equipped with several options, totaled $79,517.

The 2026 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro delivers impressive hybrid performance, excellent off-road capability, intuitive technology, and everyday comfort. Fuel economy could be better, and the thick front roof pillars reduce visibility at times, but those are minor drawbacks. For buyers cross-shopping the Ford F-150 Raptor, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2, and Ram 1500 RHO, the Tundra TRD Pro remains a strong contender that combines capability with Toyota’s reputation for long-term durability.
