Why Waymo believes they’re “not a car company” 
Right now, there are 250 million gasoline engines on the road. Over the next 10 years, another 80 to 100 million will be added. Your dealership will sell some of those 80 to 100 million. The competition believes one day, all cars will be electric and autonomous and gasoline engines will not exist. In an interview with the New York Times, the CEO of one of those competitors, Waymo’s John Krafick, was asked how Waymo is supposedly different from everyone else, therefore not actually making it a competitor with automakers.
