Hyundai lowers price for 2024 IONIQ 6, now starts under $39,000

The announcement follows Hyundai's lease price reduction on the IONIQ 6 and IONIQ 5 EVs.

Hyundai announced its new entry-level 2024 IONIQ 6 SE Standard Range, which currently stands for sale at $41,600. However, the automaker revealed it’s lowering the price to $38,615 due to “production efficiencies and scale.”

A spokesperson from the company told Car and Driver that the reduction was due to Hyundai building EVs at a lower cost and can pass the savings to buyers.

The SE Standard Range RWD is the least expensive IONIQ 6. The base model, which starts at $38,615, has a 53 kWh battery with an estimated range of 240 miles. The larger 77.4 kWh battery, which offers an estimated range of 270–361, is standard on all other trims. With an estimated 361-mile range, the IONIQ 6 RWD SE starts at $43,565, and the price increases to $47,065 with AWD. Compared to last year, both models have savings of over $3,000.

The higher trims—SEL and Limited, particularly—have dropped $2,450 from last year. The Limited costs $51,265, and the 2024 SEL RWD starts at $43,565; also, sales of the AWD models cost roughly $49,895 and $54,765.

The announcement follows Hyundai’s lease price reduction on the IONIQ 6 and IONIQ 5 EVs. Since introducing the electric models, Hyundai currently provides some of the lowest prices.

Hyundai provides a free ChargePoint L2 Home Flex Charger at $549 MSRP and a $600 installation credit to customers who purchase or lease a 2023 or 2024 IONIQ 5 or IONIQ 6 through October 31.
