Currently serving as the Director of Sales Operations at Hennessy Automobile Companies, Zak has been instrumental in setting numerous records for the company over the past five years. His visionary leadership led to the creation of a comprehensive training academy at Hennessy, which is now pivotal in molding the skills of every sales associate hired within the company.

Prior to his current role, Zak made remarkable strides in his career, achieving the position of General Manager of Rick Hendrick Chevrolet in Buford before the age of 30. His efforts there significantly increased Chevrolet’s volume, propelling the dealership into the top 100 nationally—a feat celebrated at a national event in Chicago. Even earlier, at the age of 25, Zak held the position of finance director at Van Tuyl Automotive Group, where he managed a team of five..

Zak’s accomplishments extend beyond his professional achievements. He has been married for 11 years, and is a proud father to three daughters, ages 9, 7, and 4. His dedication to his family is mirrored in his passion for coaching his daughters in softball, flag football, and basketball.

His journey in the automotive industry began early. Growing up in Asheville, North Carolina, Zak was introduced to the business by his father, who owned a small used vehicle dealership for over 20 years. At the tender age of 9, Zak purchased his first vehicle at an auction under his father’s ID. His official career, however, commenced in Tampa, Florida, as a sales associate at Lexus of Tampa Bay, marking the beginning of his career.

Zak’s collegiate background is equally impressive. A walk-on to the football team at Western Carolina University, he earned a scholarship and was named team captain in his senior year, all while obtaining a degree in business management.

The proudest moments of Zak’s career stem from his impact on others. Watching individuals he has mentored climb from sales professionals to sales managers, and even become successful General Managers, has been a source of immense satisfaction.

Looking ahead, Zak’s goals are rooted in integrity and perseverance. He aims to continue fostering a culture of success and aspiration among his colleagues, helping them reach heights they might have once thought unattainable. His vision for the automotive industry is one where customers enjoy the process and feel valued—a vision he is committed to bringing to fruition through his leadership and innovative approaches.
