Porsche EVs gain access to Tesla Superchargers across North America

Owners of Taycan and Macan Electric models can now use more than 23,500 Tesla fast-charging locations, expanding public charging options.
Starting September 9, Porsche owners of the Taycan sedan and Macan Electric SUV can now enjoy access to Tesla’s Supercharger network.

On the Dash:

  • Porsche owners of the Taycan and Macan Electric can now use Tesla’s Supercharger network, significantly expanding public charging options.
  • Model-year 2026 vehicles come with adapters for Tesla’s NACS plugs, while existing owners of 2025 Taycans and all Macan Electrics receive free adapters; older Taycan owners must pay $185.
  • Porsche plans to fully integrate Tesla Supercharger locations into its navigation and My Porsche app by the end of 2025, making the charging process more seamless.

Starting September 9, Porsche owners of the Taycan sedan and Macan Electric SUV can now enjoy access to Tesla’s Supercharger network, the largest DC fast-charging network in North America. This collaboration provides over 23,500 additional public charging locations specifically for Porsche electric vehicles (EVs).

Currently, this partnership is in its soft launch phase, meaning Porsche owners must download the Tesla app to find chargers and make payments for charging. However, by the end of 2025, Porsche plans to seamlessly integrate Tesla Supercharger locations into its own navigation system. Additionally, the My Porsche app will eventually enable drivers to pay for charging directly. This enhanced navigation system will be standard in the 2026 model-year vehicles.

For the 2026 model year, both the Taycan and Macan Electric will come equipped with an adapter that enables their Combined Charging System (CCS) ports to accept Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) plugs. Owners of the 2025 Taycan and all Macan Electrics will receive this adapter at no cost, while those with Taycans produced before 2025 can purchase it for $185 through Porsche dealerships or online.

This partnership marks a considerable expansion of public charging options for Porsche EV owners and aligns the brand with Tesla’s leading fast-charging network. It reflects a broader trend of collaboration within the EV industry, aimed at improving accessibility and convenience for electric vehicle drivers.

With access to Tesla Superchargers, drivers of the Taycan and Macan Electric SUV will gain enhanced flexibility for long-distance travel, addressing a critical concern for potential EV buyers. Porsche is committed to completing the full integration of Tesla charging capabilities into its apps and navigation system in the coming months.
