Maryland-based Annapolis Subaru donated $50,000 to Hope For The Warriors to support veterans and their family members.

The dealership is a frequent donor and, in its 25 years of business, has given away $400,000 to non-profits in its community. The $50,000, presented to the veterans-focused organization in April, was raised through Subaru’s Share The Love initiative, which allows buyers to make charitable contributions with their transactions. Customers of Annapolis Subaru raised $41,186 from November through December of 2022, with the final $8,814 provided by the dealer itself.

Hope For The Warriors has provided support to roughly 53,000 former service members since 2006, with a focus on veterans in the process of transitioning back to civilian life. Additionally, the organization offers wellness and recreational programs that address the needs of returning troops, including those with severe injuries. Billy Sadtler, general manager of Annapolis Subaru, commented that he was proud to have worked with the non-profit “to help broaden awareness of their work and to help financially support the transitioning members of the military served by Hope For The Warriors.” Sadtler also called the experience “eye-opening,” noting that many remain unaware of the difficulties soldiers can face when they return from combat.

Annapolis Subaru is one of many dealerships collaborating with charitable organizations that give assistance to veterans. As small business owners, auto retailers are uniquely positioned to address the needs of their local communities. Thankfully, those within the car industry are well aware of the positive impact they can make on the lives of others and remain some of the chief financiers for essential non-profit organizations around the country.
