Ram, Nissan earn multiple finalist spots for 2026 NACTOY awards

Winners will be announced at the Detroit Auto Show on Jan. 14, 2026.
Ram and Nissan each earned two finalist spots for the 2026 North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year (NACTOY) awards.

On the Dash:

  • Ram 1500 HEMI and 2500 Heavy Duty are finalists for the 2026 NACTOY awards.
  • Nissan earned finalist positions with the Sentra and Leaf.
  • Winners will be announced at the Detroit Auto Show on Jan. 14, 2026.

Ram and Nissan each earned two finalist positions for the 2026 North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year awards. The awards are widely respected across the industry and provide a benchmark for innovation, performance, and design. Winners will be announced at the Detroit Auto Show on Jan. 14, 2026.

In the truck category, Ram’s 1500 HEMI V-8 eTorque and 2500 Heavy Duty were named finalists. Both trucks are among the fastest-selling models on dealer lots. This is the first time Ram has earned two finalist positions in the awards’ history. Nissan also earned finalist positions with the Sentra in the Car category and the Leaf in the Utility Vehicle category.

The 2026 NACTOY finalists cover three award categories: Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle. The 2026 finalists include the Dodge Charger, Honda Prelude, and Nissan Sentra for Car of the Year; the Ford Maverick Lobo, Ram 1500 HEMI, and Ram 2500 for Truck of the Year; and the Hyundai Palisade, Lucid Gravity, and Nissan Leaf for Utility Vehicle of the Year.

The finalists were selected by 50 automotive journalists from the U.S. and Canada, who evaluate performance, capability, and overall design. The selection of multiple finalists from both Ram and Nissan highlights their presence across key vehicle segments in North America.
