Take a look at the redesigned 2026 Genesis GV70 with Lauren Fix

On location for CBT News, Lauren Fix, founder of Car Coach Reports, takes the wheel of the all-new 2026 Genesis GV70. This redesign brings significant updates to its styling, suspension, interior features, and safety technology while maintaining strong value in the luxury compact SUV segment.

The 2026 Genesis GV70 refresh introduces notable exterior and mechanical changes, including redesigned LED headlights and grille, a new flatter Genesis logo for improved aerodynamics, and upgraded suspension featuring three-valve shocks for a sharper, more connected driving experience reminiscent of German luxury sedans.

The lineup offers three powertrain options: a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-four (300 hp, 311 lb-ft torque), a 3.5-liter V6 (375 hp, 391 lb-ft torque), and a forthcoming electrified variant reviewed separately. All models come with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission, with Sport+ drive mode exclusive to the V6.

Visually, the GV70 maintains a sporty profile with privacy and insulated glass for a quieter cabin. New 19-inch alloy wheels with distinctive dual stripes are standard, with optional 21-inch wheels improving handling and performance. Brake caliper color distinguishes trim levels—black on the Sport Prestige and silver on others.

Interior improvements focus on passenger comfort, especially in the second row, which now offers reclining seats with child safety latches, manual privacy screens, three-zone climate control, heated rear seats, USB-C ports, and ambient lighting customizable for upper and lower zones. The expansive panoramic glass roof enhances the open feel.

The driver’s cockpit features a 27-inch LED display with crisp graphics, a premium 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, and a multifunction head-up display with navigation. Standard safety technology is comprehensive across trims, including forward collision warning, blind spot cameras, and cross-traffic alert without the need for optional packages, a value advantage over some German competitors.

Additional tech highlights include massaging driver seats, improved voice recognition, adjustable ambient lighting, a digital key accessible via smartphone, and a fingerprint scanner for keyless start. The flat-bottom leather steering wheel and upscale materials (including carbon fiber-like trim) add to the luxury feel.

Pricing for the 2026 Genesis GV70 starts around $47,985 for the base 2.5L and climbs to $70,095 for the fully loaded 3.5L Sport Prestige trim. Genesis’ pricing strategy and value offered with the vehicle position the GV70 competitively within the luxury compact SUV market, especially considering the extensive list of standard safety features, premium interior finishes, and advanced technology offerings. While pricing for the upcoming electrified variant has yet to be announced, Genesis continues to offer strong value by including features that are often optional or unavailable in rival German models.

"Just pulling out of the parking lot, you can see that it's a stiffer, tighter, more German-feeling suspension that is always top of the line." – Lauren Fix
