CBT News hires CNN news anchor Shyann Malone

ATLANTA, Georgia (August 1, 2023)CBT News, retail automotive’s No. 1 source for news, in-depth interviews and updates, today welcomed CNN newscaster Shyann Malone to the anchor team. A veteran journalist, Malone enhances the platform’s programming with her expertise in broadcasting and furthers the company’s commitment to connect dealers with insights from experts, leaders and analysts.

CBT News co-founder Jim Fitzpatrick celebrated Malone’s addition to the team, stating, “Ms. Malone brings a long record of accomplishments and success to our platform. Her commitment to journalistic excellence will help push the quality of our coverage to new heights.”

Malone succeeds CBT News anchor and co-founder Bridget Fitzpatrick as host of the platform’s daily newscast, which covers the breaking stories impacting the car business every weekday. She will also host exclusive shows such as Inside Automotive and CBT Now, interviewing guests from across the automotive landscape as they provide crucial information on the latest trends, technologies and practices.

By taking a role in the studio, Malone is also helping CBT News offer additional services aimed at helping dealers find success. “After reporting the news since we launched over 10 years ago, I’ve decided to hand over our daily newscast and focus entirely on the operations side of our business,” stated Bridget Fitzpatrick. “We’re excited for this chance to make our content even more valuable. With Shyann on the team, not only are we improving the quality of our coverage, but we are freeing more time to collaborate with industry leaders and find new ways to serve our audience.”

A renowned TV journalist, Malone brings over a decade of broadcasting experience to the CBT News platform. Shortly after earning a Communications degree from Ohio’s Bowling Green State University, she began her foray into journalism as a news reporter and anchor for a small CBS affiliate in Greenville, Mississippi. From there, she would go on to make appearances on Fox and ABC affiliates in South Carolina and Florida before eventually joining major networks such as HLN and CNN. Throughout her career, Malone has kept viewers up to date on hard-hitting cases such as the Ahmad Arbery Trial, and held on-air interviews with celebrities such as Michael Bublé. Most recently, she hosted HLN’s successful Morning Express show. On joining the company, she shared her excitement for the opportunity. “I’m super excited to join the CBT News team!” she stated. “Jim and Bridget are incredible people and their team has tremendous talent. My husband and I share a true love for fun cars, so the opportunity to combine my affinity for vehicles and passion for my career as a television host right here in Atlanta seemed like a natural fit.”
