  1. In Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, Technology Is Your Co-Pilot
    It’s now time for a look at some of the top manufacturing headlines from this past week, starting with Audi and its virtual cockpit. According to the New York Times, the video game experience has arrived in the automobile. Like we said, it’s called the virtual cockpit and it will become a more common feature in cars in the not too distant future…with a 12.3-inch LCD screen that houses an animated instrument cluster.
  2. Volvo’s New Small SUV, Sedan Likely To Appear Next Year
    Forbes reports that Volvo unveiled two new small SUV and hatchback design concepts…in an effort to crank up long-term output and compete with the Germans. IHS Automotive says the new models will be a compact SUV, code-named 40.1 but will likely appear as the XC40. The hatchback called 40.2, will probably be called the V40.
  3. GM offers compensation over fuel economy mistake
    GM is offering compensation to about 135,000 owners of 2016 model crossover vehicles that carried window stickers that overstated their fuel economy by 1 to 2 miles per gallon…according to USA Today. Last week, the automaker asked Chevy and Buick-GMC dealers to stop selling the models until they received new labels with the accurate information certified by GM and the EPA.
  4. Volkswagen to unveil 2025 strategy in mid-June: CEO
    Reuters reported Volkswagen will announce a new strategy in mid-June. It is hoping to boost its profitability once it emerges from an emissions test-rigging scandal which plunged the car maker into a $4.5 billion dollar operating loss for 2015.
