In August 2026, Mike Maroone Ford in Longmont, Colo., had the best sales month in its history, with 258 total vehicles and $789,903 in variable gross and dealer fees, according to Andrew Nicholas, 32, who runs the store’s used vehicles. Used sales reached 125 units, 34% above budget and 56% above the prior year, and the used department produced $383,291 in gross, up 49% year over year.
Andrew started at General Motors, working in aftersales, field operations, dealer innovation and wholesale strategy, and moved into retail in 2023. He advanced at Cadillac GMC Boulder from internet sales manager to new car manager and is now in the group’s management development program, aimed at becoming an operating partner.
In March 2026, he says, the used department sold 119 vehicles against 73 a year earlier, and finance gross rose from $209,572 to $323,482. He credits tighter appraisal and pricing discipline, wider acquisition channels and faster reconditioning and merchandising.
He coaches 14 salespeople, three finance managers and four sales managers, and started a daily trade walk and “How to Sell This Car” discussion.
“I try to lead from the front, set clear expectations, and step in wherever the team needs help.”
