Peter Duszynski, 31, runs the new car department at Mike Maroone Chevrolet South in Colorado Springs, Colo., where the store has scored a perfect 100 on Customer Satisfaction Index nine times in the last 24 months, six of them this year.
Peter started in 2014 as a sales consultant at an independent dealership, then moved to Al Serra Chevrolet South, which Maroone USA bought in May 2017. He stayed through the sale and sold cars there until 2024, picking up new car inventory manager duties in 2020 and becoming the store’s Corvette expert after attending Corvette Academy. He was a top 10 sales consultant in the Maroone group in 2021, 2022 and 2023, and the group’s top volume consultant in 2023. Maroone promoted him to new car sales director in June 2024.
Today he runs ordering, merchandising and dealer trades for the department and trains a team of 22 on new Chevrolet features, options and GM’s ordering and inventory systems. He tracks the fastest-turning models, options and colors so the lot stocks what moves, and he moved the store to market-based pricing. Only 6 of the department’s 83 retail new Chevrolets have been in stock more than 100 days, and none have passed 200.
Among the 14 dealers in his district, the department ranks second in aged inventory, fourth in CSI and sixth in inventory turn, according to his form. The store has missed the CSI benchmark just four times in two years.
