Kumasi Minley, 2026 CBT News 40 Under 40 honoree

Kumasi Minley

  • General Sales Manager
  • Court Street Ford
  • Bourbonnais, IL

Kumasi Minley, 33, leads a sales team of 18 as general manager at Court Street Ford in Bourbonnais, Ill., and he says monthly vehicle sales there have grown from 35 units to more than 135.

He came to the store by way of four years in the U.S. Marine Corps, leaving as a sergeant. He entered retail auto in 2015 as a sales consultant and worked his way up. In March 2026 the store passed 204 vehicles sold, and under him it has held new-vehicle sales effectiveness at 110% of manufacturer objectives month after month. His nominator says he has been a key driver in doubling the store’s sales since he joined and has built a more accountable, performance-driven culture.

He graduated from the NADA Dealer Academy in December 2025, Class N471, and spends much of his time recruiting, coaching and mentoring salespeople into future leaders, an approach he learned from his father, Kevin Minley, the dealer principal. Outside the store, he supports Ko-Thi Dance Company, a Milwaukee African dance and performing arts organization, with marketing, fundraising and community outreach, and he is especially committed to its children’s performing ensemble.

“My mission remains the same: take care of people, lead by example, and empower others to achieve more than they ever thought possible.”
