Matt Kool is a third-generation dealer in a family business that traces back to 1974, and today he is dealer principal of Kool Automotive Group in Grand Rapids, Mich., where he runs Kool Chevrolet and Kool Toyota.
CJ Romig, Executive Manager at Kool Chevrolet, says Matt puts his team’s well-being ahead of the bottom line, and that people stay at the group for the long haul because of the culture he protects.
In March 2025 he was elected to the Michigan Automobile Dealers Association board for the South District. Kool Toyota has also earned a J.D. Power Dealer of Excellence award under his leadership.
